Here are a few pictures of my project... this is my first tractor restoration so I won't be moving as quickly as some of the veterans here... I tore this thing down before I took any "before" pictures, but I will share the "during" and "after" shots...
My first stumbling point are these pins holding in the clutch/brake lever and the one holding on the drive shaft. ![]() any tips? thanks in advance, Eric |

Tak a pair of vise grips and hold the break pedal from moving, then get a spirol pin punch (1/4" I believe) and drive them out. They make the special punches that work awesome, but normal drift punch will do the job too. Good luck with it, I am also restoring an O!

those spiral wound roll pins are bad news to get out. when you go to put it back together get new pins. sold at any tractor dealer like Cub /JD. dont use a split roll pin, split roll pins and spiral wound roll pins are not the same.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
