Default Loaded tires ?

How much weight is added when you load a rear tire? say a 23x12x12, I'm just wondering whats better and why, weights or loaded?

Weights or loaded tires? Yes ( as in do both ) I have loaded 8.50s and loaded 10.50s and they aren't any fun to mount on the tractor.

I just looked at the Rim Guard (Beet Juice) site and their product weighs 10.7 to 11 pounds per gallon.

23x10.50-12 6.8 Gallons 72.8 lb.

23x12.00-12 10.0 " 107.0 "

24x12-12 7.5 " 80.3 "

according to their fill chart.

I think the 23 X 12.00-12 listing may be a typo. Would that tire really hold over three gallons more than the 10.50 tire and 2.5 gallons more that the 24 X 12?

We do both...loaded tires and weights. A tire loaded with fluid tends to conform to and grip the ground better because you can run less air pressure. Even just cutting grass the loaded tires work better.. they don't spin and tear up the ground in tight turns and changing directions.

I use windshield washer fluid, and figure 8lb/gallon, 6 gal per 10.50 tire, or 48 lb per tire. I use wheel weights, too, if I have them.

I know gas is cheap now but is there a concern about burning more fuel mowing with the loaded tires/weights??

Thanks OCC!

I noticed no difference in fuel usage when I loaded my tires.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
