New (to me) tires for the 149
Well, went to the local CC dealership over lunch to get a dowel pin (mine fell out of the tractor last night and I can't find it) for the 149. I was walking out and the garage next door had some ag tires sitting out by the front of the bay. I went over and was checking them out when a guy asked me if I needed help. I told him I was looking to see what size tires they were, then asked if they were for sale. He referred me to his dad who said he would sell them for $20 for the set. I couldn't pull my wallet out fast enough. I only had $17, but he told me I could stop back with the other $3 when I was in the area!!!! I am very happy! The tires are 23-10.5-12, so i am looking for a used set of 8.5 inch rims now. Can't wait to get the turfs off and save them for winter snowblowing duty with chains. I have a few small hills on my property, and the turfs would spin and tear up the grass.

I was wondering if the tires will have any clearance issues with the 44 inch mower deck on my 149. I have 23x8.5x12's on the tractor currently. Thanks,

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
