It's not mine, but wondering what you think it's worth. Lender says it runs but has a knock. Has 3 pt hitch, rear PTO, front and rear hydraulic ports, and has-been repainted. No mower deck included. It looks great.
What's it worth? Thanks

Pictures are everything. To rebuild the original Onan B48G is $$$$$.

About 3 years ago this forum told me the 982 I bought with 3pt hitch and 60" Haban, but with No turning brakes, No front hydraulics, No rear PTO, not running, looking like crap, was well worth the $600 I paid for it. Like Roland said, pics would be helpful. Ask yourself how much it's gonna cost you to find a used 20hp (aprox) engine of some flavor that can be easily adapted to go in it, that may help you decide. The hitch and rear PTO are high dollar options.

Scot, I would say no less than $1200 if it has those options but pics would help a bunch.
Onan's got a bad rap on being rebuilt but I don't think are any more expensive than rebuilding a Kohler Mag.

Assuming a bad engine I would go 1750.
It's not IH, but if it were I would go 2000.

How do you know it's not a IH model? Thought all 982s were IH. It has been repainted.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
