I actually got to drive the Cub for the first time on Saturday. It was short lived due to a fuel delivery problem. I pulled the tank and found the shut-off valves almost completely rusted closed, the grommets attached to the tank in very poor shape.. So, I have some more parts to order...but it's getting there!

Thanks again for the help!

Take the valaves apart and clean them out, replace the two bungs that go into the tank and replace all of the fuel line and I do mean all of the fuel line. Oh and change the fuel filter. The gas eats the old stuff.

More good advice...I ordered the grommets and I'll pick up locally new fuel line. Before I saw your post, I tried to order new shut off valves...no luck, can't get them anymore. I'll see if I can pull them and clean them out.

Our sponsors will probably have the shut off valve available. Try calling or emailing them.

You should be able to take them apart and clean them out with a drill bit. I may have a couple in the barn, I'll have to look.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
