Throwing out another question for everyone..... Foam pre-cleaners, are they meant to be washed out with gas every so often when they get loaded up with dirt and crud? I normally take a new foam pre-cleaner and squish in about 2 table spoons or so of fresh engine oil when they initially installed. But we always used to clean them with fresh gas once or twice a year, then when dry, re-install them with fresh oil in them. I did this to the last one I had on my Onan. Dog on thing swelled up and became like twice the size it was when I removed it!!  I thought if I let it dry out it would go back to normal size? I installed it over sized and I am sure its garbage now unless it shrunk down more after the engine running?  Anyone have a picture of a 100 with wide ags on the back and the nice wide tri-ribs on the front? Just trying to see what it would look like with them on? Will eventually have to replace the front tires on the 100 and am just curious as to what I will end up replacing them with?

Really? I would have thought the soap would have either helped clog up the foam as well it would have a heck of a time cutting down the oil and grime that was already in the foam? Wow! Will have to try that next time.

 Left my mailbox today with a smile on my face. Nice change, no bills, just a small box with my new tail light lense in it. Thanks Lew! Couldn't have asked for better service than that. Pleasure doing business! Arrived in perfect condition, just like you said it was and that box is great for shipping small parts, great choice.  Now I just need to take the time to get some bearings for the front end. Not sure but I think I will likely remove the tires and clean up the rims and give them a fresh coat of paint, perhaps even replace the tires at the same time if enough $$$ when the time comes. Might as well get it all fixed up nice and right the first time. Will take a look at the ball joints as well and the pivot pin for front axle. Should be good for another 30 odd years after going over the front end.

How much "play" is there supposed to be in the verticle shaft of the front spindle assembly on a 100? I am changing the wheel bearings on the 100 and there is some movement in the verticle shaft and don't know how much the grease is supposed to be filling the space and if its worn or not? There is no ridges in it where it shows wear nor the hole doesn't look oblong or anything? Anyone have the exact measurements that the verticle and horizontal shafts of the spindles are supposed to be?

Anyone else have trouble removing the front axle on a 100?? Is there supposed to be THAT much swearing when doing it?

yeah but i dont swear but i do swear in my head. my dad welded the front pin in so i had to grind the weld.

Ordered the front wheel bearings this morning. $17.00 each. Should have them by next week if all goes well. Where is the best place to get the ball joints. I am thinking the site sponsor's prices are about as competative as the some of the other suppliers? (McMaster, etc.).

Got the new bearings, new Heim ball joints....just need to get some new front tires then I can assemble everything. Is the front left spindle supposed to come appart from the axle? Cause I'd say mine is welded together and the removal of the roll pin does NOTHING now!
Got the right one out and cleaned up and cleaned 1/2 of the left one "ON" the machine. How about the grease fittings on the spindles...they just press in? I don't want to break mine off to replace them, but there isn't any sides on it to put a wrench on it like I normally see? For those of you who have had to deal with a center pivot pin that has been welded in...how did you get it out after grinding off the weld, drive the snot out of it? Looks like a big PIA job to do while standing on my head. Think it might have to wait until I want to strip the tractor down, or at least stand it on end almost to work on it!Gotta get the mower on this puppy and get the grass cut...otherwise I will have to rent a few goats soon!
