I just saw the title "super model numbers and years" and I was thinking.... Cindy Crawford - 36-24-36 1995-2002. Elle McPherson, Hedi Klum.... but those aren't the super models you are talking about, is it?

I highly suggest ordering this book. Almost everyone here has it and the one printed prior to it. It will answer about every question you would have on numbers and production and more.

Yes you have to go to a green site to order a yellow and white book. LMAO

http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...t=Super+models

Take a look at this thread for the models that were Supers. Or, use the Search function on this site for tons of information on "Super". From what I have seen, IH and then MTD made a Super from 1980 or so until 1997' starting with the 982 and ending with the 2284 cyclops. I know I may be off a little on this.

There are lots of different models In between, but keep on mind that the 982 was the only IH model and then after 1981, MTD came out with some pretty stout versions, including my favorite, the 2072; the last metal-hooded Super and with a big nasty Kohler twin 20 Magnum.

The cyclops versions after 1989 have a certain following too, but the plastic hoods lost some of the Cub faithful as did anything not Red in color or without a cast iron rear, IMHO.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
