Default Adding a Small FEL on Cub Cadet 1515

Hello; everyone, I'm so happy I ran acroos this fourm and hoping someone can help me. I've been wanting a small front end loader but, can't seem to find one with the lawn mower and FEL attached so I was was wondering if I could add a small 40 to 48" front end loader on my old Cub Cadet 1515 any help here would be really appreciated. It doesn't have any hydraulics though.

Thanks!
William

William how thick is the frame on your 1515? It's suggested that you have 1/8 thick frame for a loader. Depending on the loader determines where the loader pump is mounted to. A custom loader like CADPlans or PF eng you can custom build the loader and place your loader pump where you want it too. You could buy a factory loader and make a custom sub frame for it to allow the mower deck to be used.

A down side if having a loader on a mower tractor is working in tight area's hard and mowing around houses and trees can be a pain. You would want to have power steering to aid as the loader does add lots of frontal weight to the tractor.

My suggestion is have a mower and a loader tractor and have more tractors for each use.

A 1515 is a lawn tractor with vertical shaft engine, so I'd forget about putting a loader on it. You need a garden tractor to use a loader.

Hello; Duke, thanks, for the reply I'm not really sure if the frame is 1/8" but I will not be using my mowing deck for this one. I also have a Cub Cadet RZT 50” Zero-Turn KOHLER COURAGE 22HP that I mow with. I've tried to find an old heavy mower to mount the FEL on but, haven't so far.

That's the million dollar question. It all depends on your taste and what you can find for cubs.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
