I like it. And how you made it.

That great idea will help me get the logs off the mountain and drug to a saw site. I just cant stop thinking about how to power a saw blade on a saw mill with the cub.

Why couldn't this power a stationary circular saw blade (via a belt and some gear system) and a log rack move the log across the blade. Engage the clutch on the cub and the blade starts turing??? Thinking out loud hear. Some of the band saw mills are using 6 to 9 HP motors. This 149's 14hp should be powerful enough. Any Thoughts? Ideas? I may have to leave this idea along but just cant stop thinking about it.

I really want to saw my own lumber for the cabin.

I personally don't have one of those, but wonder about the speed. Would it be fast enough to cut logs?

How about a belt off of your front pto to run a saw blade? Then you can engage it with the pto switch!

With the rear pto belt adaptor you could power a saw. Here's the link to the chart of the gear boxes.

That tractor looks familiar!!??

When my 58 year old neighbor saw it, he joked about borrowing it to cut stove wood!!

Then I got to hear about the years him and his brothers spent cutting stove wood with a belt pto cut off saw.

They all seemed very happy to get a chain saw!! The only use they had for the tractor was cutting slabs from the saw mill.

Their father sold the old tractor and saw when they got a chain saw!!

He could not remember what tractor they had owned, except it had a pulley like that one.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
