Cut those old Turf tires.
Cut those old Turf tires.
Just for the heck of it, and for something to do. I decided to try something different. It only took about 45min on each tire. Should be interesting and fun when the pulls start again in late May 2013.    This is what I used, worked very good and fast.  Jeff

I have not seen cut turf tires before I did this.
I have watched pullers use turf tires before, they are lucky if they move off the start line. A regular (V-lug) or agi tire does really well. The factory cut pulling tires are absolutely amazing. I have no doubt that this has improved traction and the pulling capability of this tire. Not sure how much improvement is there. I think it will be fun to find out. Its for the fun of it all. At our local track at some pullls we've seen better luck with turfs than ags, or cut ags even. Just depends on the moisture in the track and how well its packed. Also when a turf tire is working well its not digging into the dirt like an ag tire would, which means there is less loose dirt to pile infront of the sled.

Good job jeff, when we pulled stock tractors the sears tires cut would put the hurtin' on an ag style tire. they are monsters. we would keep them mounted and then use a break off knife on them quick and easy. off course your not gonna touch a professinal cut tire though
