carb "spacer" gasket.application?purpose?advantage?
What is the application/purpose/advantage of the carb "spacer" type gasket over the plain single layer thin gasket? I am changing the carb from a walbro to a Kohler Carter # 30 on a K321 engine from a 149,and I am trying to determine which gasket to use.
My K321aqs has the spacer type gasket,but my k241's and k301's have a thin gasket. Thanks.

I have gone both ways with and without the carb spacer and really didn't see any notable difference. I think the pullers run a spacer and it probably makes a difference on a modified motor. I beleive it has something to do with atomizing the fuel but not 100% sure. Sam Mac will know more about this topic I'm sure.

The "thing" that I have always heard, the spacer helps reduce heat to the carb reducing the possibility of boiling the fuel.

the reason for the carb spacer for pulling is because the carb vapour locks and wont run.
