Maybe I should mention that there is a 1330 (?) down the road for about $200 Pretty rough though, and only comes with a mower deck...
Roger, I am on the other side of Toronto.. I am near Niagara Falls.. Seems like either one would be good. Having a 2 cyl wouldn't hurt either I suppose.. BTW - Thanks for making a stranger feel so welcome on thie forum ! |

I will want to hook up some brinly type attachments. So I will need a sleeve hitch....I think.
I guess I need still need to buy more parts to have a sleeve hitch.. correct? See attached pics of hitch area on both tractors: 1450: ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us 1811: ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us |

You'll need the Brinly adapter. The white piece in my pic. You'll also need the pin that goes into the top casting. You already have the top casting.

I'd go with the 1811 or jd318. Both are great. Though the jd has more options that are nice to have.

I'd also say the 1811 or the 318 mainly depending on what engine it has. You'll love the magnum 18 in the cub and the deere might have the same but if it has an onan I'd stay away. They both have the same hydro units although the deere has power steering. Assuming they both have kohler magnum engines I'd go with the tractor that's in the best condition.

Looks like the pin is with it? Or is it a different pin? ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us |

As far as the JD 318 vs. the 1811.
Although the 318 does have some nice features... As far as a Brinly type sleeve hitch goes, I think it would be too costly to put together. First, I'd need to buy the 3 pt. hitch setup at 300-400, then th a-frame type adapter at another $100+ The Cub Cadet has most of the pieces already.. |

Yes the tiller already has the top pin.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
