I love occ
Hello everyone, as a new member I just want to say that within the few days that I've been part of this forum I can already say one thing for sure:I LOVE OCC. I've found a lot of info and have gotten help(thanks to those guys:biggrin2.gif. Anyways, I forgot to tell you guys about myself. Well, I am a cub lover by choice. I went to a tractor show right next to my house and saw a cub cadet 123 and after that I was in love (and Ironicly my first cub I got over this summer was a 123). I picked her up for $100. I'm also buying a cubby 125 off the same guy and she comes with two mowing decks(one for the 123 he sold me before, and one for the 125) the 125 is $300 but has a replaced motor that runs perfect(the same type engine....what is it, a k301as I think?). I'm going to restore her. Well, like I said before, I love this forum and everyone on it is great.
It's also nice to have some buds on here to talk to about cub cadets....the only buds I have with tractors don't like cubs and such. One bud has 9 of te simplicity landlords(fdt's) and one rbt simplicity sovereign. I hate to admit it but I also have one simplicity, a 1979 sovereign. And my other bud just wants to get rid of most of his tractors(and if you saw my post, he's the one with the cubby 100). Well, I look forward to posting more and getting responses from you all. ~Kyle |

I'll try to get some pictures up within the next week. I'll take a pic of my cubby 123 and my 125 I'm getting. My 123 is in the process of getting the plow on so it is only semi attached right now since it gets VERY cold out in my workshop. I'll get some pics while her engines out and take pics of the engine and inside the block. If I can find it, I'll show you pics of the connecting rod that shattered! Well, keep on coming back this week. I might not be on for a few days but I'll get those pics up for you guys.

I forgot to say that my 123's engine is out because it has a shattered connecting rod and the pistons crap. I'm getting two pistons and a conneccting rod sometime this week or next week. Other than that she's in overall good condition.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
