I hope this tractor ain't too new or big for this site, but y'all have helped me before, so I think I'll be ok. My girlfriend's uncle has a 2004 Cub Cadet 7264 that he bought new in great condition about five years ago. It is a FWD hydrostat with a loader and 3-Point. I'm not sure if the oil has been changed (He doesn't use it hard at all), but it hasn't had much service done to it so far. He asked me if I was any good with "These machine things" because he was good with stuff around the house, but he's lost with mechanics. :P I told him yes (and I am fairly good), so he wanted me to go over it and give it a "Check up". like change fluids, filters, grease, regular maintenance stuff. I'm fine with the whole procedures, but what I'm wondering is if there's anywhere online that I could look to get specs since the tractor didn't come with a manual. I've already been to Cubcadet.com and tractordata, but I need info that would've been in the manual like oil weights.
I plan on checking/changing the hydraulic and transmission/hydrostat fluids, and engine oil, greasing ALL the bearings I can find, Giving it a nice hot bath , and fixing other small bugs that I find along the way like the flashers that don't work all of a sudden. Is there anything that I'm forgetting? Apparently this guy's hard to get along with, and so far I seem to be on his good side and I don't wanna screw that up just yet...Thanks! Any info is greatly appreciated! |

Take a look at the manual for it. If it's anything like the one I have for my Kubota BX it's pretty simple. Also you may want to try MTF
http://www.mytractorforum.com/ Look for the Cub category the In SCUT section.

Go easy on the "nice hot bath" ----save that for you and your lady.
A pressure washer directed in areas of seals or joints or things that move, can and will put water/soap in places that will cause rust corrosion down the road. So use your head/common sense there. |

Sam Mac - That's kinda what I was asking, is there anywhere I can find an online manual? Since like I said in the first post, it didn't come with a manual... :/
ol'George - And don't worry, I'll give the lady one too! And I'm not blasting this thing, I'm doing a bucket, brush, and sponge job.

Google Cub Cadet 7264 service manual for an on-line manual, or maybe the dealer that sold it, or call Cub Cadet at 1-877-428-2349 with the Model + Ser. Num.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
