I know it's not a 122, but we recently upped the size on our Original to 26x12x12s through Miller Tire. We bought their rim tubes and centers and then welded them to fit our tractor. Price can be well below the original $500 you mention and, you can be sure they fit without spacers. You can check out their website to see if they're attending a show near you and they can deliver them to the show so you save on shipping.

Here's the finished product.

For reference, the right tire in the rim shot is a 23x10.5x12, bare rim is their 10-inch tube being fitted to fender.

And no, we weren't pulling on the surface of Mars. For some reason, my 'puter likes to change the colors around a little bit when I save photos.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
