Test Run - chute hit nose when up - likely narrow frame conversion where my nose leans out not back. Cut the entire system from housing and fabricated a 4 link lift ( reused the original bottom lift link ). Now it lifts straight up not tilting back clearance good but a little concerned PTO shaft is only engaging 1 in. of spline where before 1 3/4 in.?? (Totally collapsed 2 1/8 in.)

Can you post a pic of the drive shaft? If it's a fabricated style you can probably have it re tubed at a drive shaft shop.

Thanks - In early attempt to correct chute hitting , lengthened original bottom lift link 1 1/2 in.. Cut re-welded back to original length shaft now engaged properly. If anyone does this conversion can supply all measurements. Next will be paint

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
