WOOT! Sparkplug Rebate!!
I had my daughter pick up a couple K-engine plugs for me today.
The receipt came with an on-line coupon for a $0.50 per plug refund. $1.59 after rebate. It is at Advance Auto. Sorry, Duke, LIMIT 16!! Cheaper than Amazon by over a dollar per plug!! The rebate says Autolite lawnmower plugs, so there should be quite a few part #s'. I got mine!! |

To the best of my knowledge, the 458 is a "mini" 216 (short). They are identical to the 216 as far as I know. Same threads, 13/16 socket, just a short insulator.
They "look" a lot better in the 800 and the 1000. |

Just went and looked in the tech section and found the plug chart. Both plugs are listed. http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...ead.php?t=4638 |

It looks like the 458 is a "hotter" plug than the 216.
http://www.autolitecatalog.com/Docs/...eHeatRange.pdf I think the hotter plug lasts longer in my put around tractors, the 216 is probably better when the engine gotta pull a mower etc.... |

I got 216 and 458 plugs to cover my 7/8 engines and the 216's for everything else.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
