Default K241A question

This little motor has been sitting, when she gets warm there is a light amount of smoke coming of the motor around the area behind the Carb and air cover. Is this just the layer of crud or does that signal a larger issue?

Also she has a little carb issue i think, is there a good how to thread on adjusting these stock carbs?

Well, technically, it's both. All motors are built with some "blow by" The purpose it to vent any vapors or moisture out of the crankcase. As long as it isn't "puffing" real hard, it's normal.

No it don't seem to be really alot but you can see it. and it does it for a few min. after i shut her off. Guess i never noticed on the belt drive mower, probably because i am cutting the grass and the grass and dust are hiding it. but since this has no mower to hide it i am noticing it.

ok thanks alot

I'm not sure what kind of "belt drive mower" you are referring to, but if it's newer than your cub, the vent is probably vented into the air breather for the engine. Once the EPA was established, engine crank case vent air had to be piped into the intake so the motor would burn the vapors. Only older engines vent to the outside. I'm sure by what your describing, that it is fine.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
