yeah, I thought about that as well, and came close to building a 3 point set up, but i started think and thought this setup would be cool, and something you don't see everyday. I first thought about putting the motor in front but then I wasn't sure if the hydrostat would operate turning in the opposite direction and if it did I'd still have to flip the ring gear, I guess this is what you get when you have plenty of time on your hands, LOL. I'll post up some more picture as the project progresses, I still have to fit the hood and then tear down and paint.

Nice project, and if you have all the stuff - why not?
What's the word on those China made diesels? I have seen a couple re-powers with them and when they go on sale they are tempting for the price...

I've had good luck out of them, couple years back I put one on a motorcycle, used a centrifugal clutch (kinda like a snowmobile), fast as I could get it was 52 mph, but it would get 118 mpg. it was great for around town driving. I still have the bike, just due to some health problems I don't ride much anymore.

Got a little more done, here's some more pictures to those that wanna see, please forgive my welding, I can weld good enough to keep things together but it sure ain't pretty. we had a big storm here last night and the power went out so I got to use the tractor for the 1st time, everything seemed to work just fine, it powered everything in the house, I could hear a strain when the A/C kicked on though, but it worked.
got a few little odds and ends to take care of, then tear down and paint. then I guess it will sit in the barn till needed.

Wow that is a lot of custom. I kinda like it. I was thinking of doing something similar wit a gear drive cub but making it a pto setup and maybe putting the generator unit under the tractor or something similar. Are you going to do anything to help keep the engine out of the eliments in case its raining or something?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
