Mr. Lurker
Hi folks, my names Kevin.
I'm a Cub Cadet rookie, I don't own one yet. I stumbled onto this site while pawing around the net. I've been lurking around here about a month trying to learn all I can about Cub Cadets. I'm sick to death of buying a disposable mower every 3 or 4 years. Done a lot of looking and learning. Looking around for a 100 or a 70. I mow about 3 acres. You folks have a lot of good information here, and I appreciate it. I Don't have anything to contribute, just wanted to say Hi. I'm in northwest Arkansas |

Be careful.... once you buy one it's hard to stop! If the three acres you mow is one "yard" ... you may want to look for something that will handle a little bigger deck. It's going to take a while with that one. Something that will handle at least a 50". Shoot, just go for the gold and find you a SGT! |

welcome to occ......I have a 100 it has mowed my two acres of lawn with no problems ,but it does take a while. I'm using a 127 hyrdo now with great results. Hydros work better IMO than 3 speeds around trees and objects you wish weren't there.I've got some kin in searcy co. and summit yellville area. I'd love to get back down there for a visit someday........

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
