Greetings from PA!
Hey all!
I'm Scott, I live near Pottsville PA, out in the woods I have been into Cub Cadets since I could walk and talk and I would like to get back into collecting. This all started again last week looking for a cheap riding mower on Craigslist. I have neglected my 3 Cub Cadets that I have had for a long time, the model 71 was my grandfathers, he got it new and gave it to me around 1985. Now I have 4 lol......I picked up a 72 for parts which is in better shape than my 71, 100 or 127 (100 last ran 2008, 71 threw a rod around 1993, 127 been broke at least 23 yrs) I am trying to make one tractor out of the 71 and the 100, and the 127 I don't know what to do with......I know I want more Cub Cadets lol. |

The 100 should be easy with a carb clean if it was simply left unused the 71 probably needs a rebuild (price isn't bad $90 for a complete kit for a k301 so 7hp cant be much worse)

thanks, another day closer to getting this 72 ready to mow, was quite an expensive day, 2 more cans of cub cadet yellow from tsc, two more cans of rusty metal primer and 110 bucks for a pto kit and a pto bearing and a mule drive pulley.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
