Default 2013 1046KW PTO noise

Just got my 1046KW three weeks ago, but when I engage the PTO it makes a lot of noise like a rattling, is that normal?

I read in another post that you should check your tractor when you get it from a dealer I strongly agree. They dropped off my 1046 and drove it up on my front yard where it ran out of gas my wife had to go get gas just to get it out back. They told me it would be ready to mow so I put gas in it and off I went to proudly mow my front yard, my neighbor tells me my 1040 did a better job and I looked and he was right. So I checked my mowing deck and the right side would not lower with our putting my foot on it and pushing down each time I lowered the deck. I fixed that and checked front to back and found it to be off by 2 1/2 inches, right to left was all right. I need to check the front end because it plows bad when I turn.

I'm starting to see a trend with the latest stuff from Cub and I'm not liking what I'm seeing. Think I'll stick to the Oldies But Goodies.

There's not as many people here with the newer cubs. I don't own one, but I'm going to say, that it's not supposed to make "a lot" of noise.... but I can't hear it so not really sure. Hard to diagnose a noise from a forum..... take the deck belt off and see if the noise is still there. Perhaps its the deck....

Default NO PTO noise!

Found the noise or should say wife found it, the bumper, she put her hand on it and no noise. Removed it and mowed and it purrs like a kitten.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
