Here is mine not fancy but got a 1/8" NPT elbow with a 1/4" hose barb on the other from Jegs.Nickel plated brass, like $4 I used 1/4" aluminum can't comment on the icing up haven't used it in winter yet? Want polished 2500 grit wet sand or higher and mothers aluminum polish and there u go. I used 2-5/8 rubber coated hose clamps attached to the cam cover from TSC. I will try to get a better pic later today. Used the old cover as a template. I did have to cut the rubber spacer on the cover bolt down because the new cover is flat and not convex like the original. I used a bandsaw to cut it not bad at all?

I wonder how hard this would be to make for a k161 keeping oil off a freshly painted engine would be nice.

I just got a Magnum 10 Kohler powered machine. The engine has a cover with a rubber tube that connects the cover to the air cleaner. NO oily mess. http://www.partstree.com/parts/?lc=k...catalogs_31006 Item 11 is the hose. These engines do not vary much. This could be way cheaper than starting from scratch!! And, less effort!! |

I never thoight of adapting from something else. But I guess uve never seen a k181 or k161 with a remote hose.I got a couple small chunks of aluminum laying around I might start playing with em seeing as I have 4 k161s here and one basicly a block so nothing to really screw up right. Do yall still leave all the guts in the breather?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
