Default SLTX 1054 oil filter question..simple I think..
The manual I have specifies "Kohler 12 050 01 S" as the replacement filter.

I was able to find a "Kohler 12 050 01 S1" in town.

Is this one acceptable? What's the difference between the S and the S1 (if any)

You don't have to have a "kohler" filter, why not just have a parts store cross reference the original number and get you a Hastings or a Wix or whatever...

The store I was in only had Kohler for garden tractors..they didn't have the FRAM number I was looking for or any other cross references.

Do not use a fram filter for anything. They are the cheapest filter on the market. Stick with OEM, Wix, Napa or Hastings.

Default WIX is the one of the best
A Wix 51056 is the cross for that Kohler filter.
