After you get it going, and knowing it's up to the lawn mowing duties, if you want to change the fluid you can do it then.
You know nothing of the past life of this mower do you? Or do you? Reason I ask is, if something is wrong with it, (major) why spend the extra coin? You said it has set for two years, or was it yours or someone's you know and you or they let it set?
Oh no I know a lot about it. It's just been sitting for about 2 years it was my grandfather's. I don't own it just working it. Thing ran fine when parked, unfortunately it wasn't stored dry so the fluids and fuel were still in it.

Oops, my mistake, sorry.
Then drain the fuel and do the normal maintence, and change the fuel filter also. I personally have never changed the diff fluid on one of these tractors, couldn't tell you where to start.
On my 1330, (same diff) if I remember correctly the manual never mentioned anything about changing diff fluid, I think they even discouraged against it, but I'll look again tomorrow. I THOUGHT it mentioned something about being service free, and if there was a problem to contact your dealer.
Now I know for the most part we like to do our own maintenance, and maybe I neglected my 1330 that's why the hydro only lasted 20 years before it gave out
Seriously, I personally wouldn't worry about it, but if I'm wrong one of the others will correct me and get you straitened out.

Alright yeah I just figured be safe then sorry but if it's never been changed it probably might do more harm to change it and loosen all the crap up then leave it like it is. Thanks.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
