Just moved from the marsh to the High country!!!
Just like to introduce myself a bit. My fiance and I just moved from south Louisiana to Jonesville NC a few weeks ago. Trying to live a more self sustainable life so we bought some land and with that.... I bought the same looking CC my paw had. I am not sure of the model but I believe it is a 1974 128 with rear pto? The terminology is slowly sinking in as I am new to these. I love this thing and want to rebuild, not restore it. I have the opportunity to buy a 1810 locally that I want to cut with and keep this as my plowboy. I look forward to chatting and keeping up with dern retired folks that do such cool things with your Cubs.

My retirement comes when I die. Until then I will make the land I own liveable. It is soothing.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
