As I was strapping the two cubs down. And a guy walked up to me and asked what I paid for the original? Said I gave $300 for it. He said it was his tractor and that he sold it to Jim about a year ago. He said it was running when Jim got it. It did come out of South Dakota. This guy got it from the original owner.
Both motors spin by hand. I messed with the O a little last night. The copper gas line to from sediment bowl to carb was gone. They left the compression nuts thou?? Made a new line and put some gas in. Gas bowl gasket bad, fixed that. Carb bowl gasket bad. That's is were it sits now. Need to find a carb kit this morning. It appeared that Off road diesel was in the tank. Just a little in the Sediment bowl. The tank is very clean and there was a very little varnish in the carb bowl. You got a good pic of the two that I purchased. the "O" and 100. The deck I passed on in the back row. They grouped two decks together and it got up to like $65 for the pair. The deck for the Original had rusted through in the front. Now this is after a Guy paid $325 for a 50" deck! I saw him load a 582 in his truck. I still am kicking myself for not bringing a couple of the Little Genius Plows home ![]() I have the Hardware Store in Appleton, MN. So if anyone is passing by stop in. Cubs are filling up the backroom. The employee's just kinda shake their heads! ![]() |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
