Repower
I am thinking of taking a look at the following Magnum to replace the K series in either my 1450 or 1210.
I think the price is far too steep, although is complete with carb, starter etc. Any help appreciated. http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-s...AdIdZ514654634 Model M16S Spec- 711527 Serial 2007808863 Also how can year of manufacture be determined??

That engine was designed and built for "Broward Equipment" for some mower application.

has a 1 1/8 crank so you need to find a PTO to fit it, its 4 in long so you have to shorten it then drill the taped hole deeper and thread it. and its probably a wide base block that won't fit in a cub without some major mods

1-1/8" PTOs are very common no big deal. The long shaft is also no big deal just put a spacer on the end of the shaft after you put the PTO on.

Thanks Sam. But still have the difference in the block to deal with. I don't want to modify the tractors too much, but if I do will go for a twin cylinder then. He wants too much anyway--at that price I could rebuild both of my engines.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
