Default Will this K301 work in my Cub 1211?
Found this on Craigslist for a decent price. http://buffalo.craigslist.org/grd/4096246232.html. My Kohler M12 is out of the tractor awaiting a rebuild. I think this K301 looks very similar to the M12. What modifications if any would need to be made?

Looks to me like it would,is it a deep sump oil pan? is it a k301aqs? I have a k301aqs from a jd mower that going into my 1211. You will have to change some wiring,and I was told to change the ignition switch also,which needed changing anyways one blade was burnt off it. The 1211 got its ignition from a mag not points and a coil. I was also told to get a ignition switch from a cub cadet 1282 ,which is what it will be when you put the k301 in it. There are others on here that know alot more than me,I'm sure they will be of more help.Oh look up the wiring diagram the 1211 and the 1282 ignitions are wired alittle different.
All this about the ignition and switch I was told on here,I'm not a wiring expert. If your planing on putting your m12 back in I would leave it alone and wait.
