Default Hello from N.E. Ohio

Greetings, all:

I only have 1 Cub Cadet, a 1975/76-vintage CC 800 my late dad bought when he retired from IH in 1976.

Yeah, it has mowed A LOT of grass over the years, but all I have to do is turn the key and start mowing. It has the model 38A mower, which works well on my "postage-stamp" size yard.

Doesn't seem like anyone makes anything smaller than a 42" mower deck anymore...but that is a rant for another day.....

Anyway, happy to have found this board and other Cub Cadet enthusiasts.

Regards...Cubby Guy

Mentor ,Ohio, about 25 mIles east of Cleveland. My 800CC is very rough compared to yours ....GOTTA finish my restore job
I have painted the side covers and the deck, then some sorry (mumbles several un-publishable names here) took off with the mower spindle/belt covers.
Same so-n-so also took my 5 cans of CC Yellow.

I have looked at the MTD Cub Cadets, but I wonder how many of them will be mowing 37+ years later???

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
