Just another Newbie...
Hello, My name is Frank, I'm a AT in the US Navy. I've been in for 8yrs now. I had a bad accident and I crushed my shoulder. I'm now stationed in Groton Ct until I can get full use of my arm. That brings me to why I'm here. I can't shovel snow so I needed to get a snow blower, I figured if I'm going to buy something I'm going to buy something I can use all year. So I decided to get a garden tractor. I used a Cub growing up and put it thru hell, so knowing how well they hold up my choice was a no brainer. I wanted the same model as the one I used 25yrs ago. So I ended up buying a 1966 122, it came with a CW36 snow thrower, a plow, a rototiller and a model #1 trailer, I paid $300 for it and it came with all the owners manuals and paper work since he bought it new. The engine was overhauled in 1999, it was bored 10 over and he bought a new carb at the time of the rebuild. I'm currently converting it over to hydro lift. I paid $100 for the lift, it came with everything but lockout clip. I still haven't found one, they seem to be hard to come by. The thrower's PTO is noisy, I opened it up and found it dry. So I'll need to get new bearings for it but for now I found a QA42 for $80 so I'm just going to use that.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
