QA42A snow thrower with hydraulic rotate feature
i know I'm not the first to do this, but i think i am the first to offer details on how i did it. works very smooth and very controllable! i just wish i had found a cheaper version of the hydraulic motor. wasn't a cheap setup but i wanted to use my front hydraulic outlets for something!
the motor came from northern tool. they list it as a dual purpose hydraulic motor/pump. they have a number of different displacements to fit your needs. i ordered the largest one in an attempt to slow it down more. after hooking it up found out it was still way too fast and had to make homemade restrictors in the lines. so if i did it again i would just get the smallest one and drill the holes in my restrictors one size smaller. the size i had to use was 5/64" hole to slow it down enough to make it non violent. A lot of the details are in the pictures but if anyone is thinking about doing this i can put more details on here just let me know.

Nice work! I wonder if one of those cheap Harbor freight winch's could be used to turn the chute? I think the cable could be wrapped around the chute and then back to the drum on the winch making it a loop. Just a thought.

These are great idea's for a power turn chute, you guy's really put on the old thinking cap's! Another great and simple design was from Todd Markle, I hope he doesn't mind that I re posted his picture's from years ago.

Did somebody say simple? I just used a small 3/8" reversible Makita drill. The 6.2 volt drill turns the chute with ease.
