New Member from Oklahoma
Hello All,
I have been "lurking" since summer when I came into possession of a 1320 Lawn Tractor. It was my dad's and needed some repairs. He has an 1811 and was not interested in fixing it. So after a tune up and a battery I used it to mow our 2 acres all summer and enjoyed operating it. I have recently spotted a 782 and am in negotiations to obtain it. I think it needs a coil points and a battery and it will be good to go. I am in Oklahoma and it seems that most Cadets here are used for lawn mowing. it seems that members elsewhere use them for the workhorses they were designed to be. I intend to use the 782 to the max for mowing, gardening and other work around our 2 acres and my dad's farm. anyway, I am glad to be a member here. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
