Can some one tell me what this is and any opinions are welcome also. When I google farmall cub I do t get anything that looks similar to it.

It has a Allis Chalmers grill on it, but it is a 185 Cub.

It was discussed on farmallcub.com and was likely a numbered series Lo-Boy that someone has modified to a round nose.

I thought it looked like a Lo Boy. Those had weak clutches correct? Or at least expensive to fix.

I don't know anything about weak clutches in them. Or expensive. Maybe others just don't know where to get them.

They are very expensive clutches to fix, especially in the 154 lo boys. I have one and it has been sitting for a few years now because I have been afraid to bite the bullet and buy all the driveline parts. If you are looking to buy one of the numbered lo boys, I would recommend the 184 Lo Boy. The clutch was bolted to the flywheel like a farm tractor rather than in the middle of the driveshaft. There are also some great design improvements over the 154 and 185.

I need to set your supplier up with my dad then! He's got 3 Lo-Boy's right now and it seems he's had clutch trouble with all of them at some point and he's always complaining how expensive they are to fix (the clutches). Too bad you're not closer, I bet I could get him to sell one or two of them pretty cheap.

I don't remember about the engine clutch being expensive but the PTO clutch was ridiculously expensive and not all that simple.

I meant to look that info up today. I work very closely with a clutch builder. He keeps me in clutches, and I help him out with "technical details" He can build anything, and I have never had him charge me very much for a clutch. Been installing his clutches for ten years now. Anyway, been years since I have worked on a 185...... I'll check my books as soon as I can.

Anyone on this thread have any F-Cubs/Lo-Boys?
