Default New guy here from NC

Hi, Everyone. I've been a Cub Cadet owner for about 12 or 15 years. During that time I haven't learned very much about them because I didn't need to. I have a 100 (I think) that I have always been able to get started. Finally, this year, it's not running so good. I think I may have a carburetor issue, so I'll be asking for help and advice very soon. Just looking around the forum, though, has gotten me very interested and now I'm thinking of doing some level of "refreshing" on mine. It probably won't be a full restoration, because I always intend to work it, but I'm definitely interested in trying to preserve it long-term.

I feel like I already know some of you from all the threads I've read, but I look forward to interacting with you and learning as I go.

Thanks for the welcome ACecil. I was in the NC Nat'l Guard in the late 80's and early 90's and spent a lot of time at Ft. Bragg.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
