Default Tach Recommendation

I think I should invest in a tachometer. Can you post a recommendation for a decent tachometer? If I could get one that can handle a Kohler K series as well as high-revving chainsaws that would be best. I work on chainsaws constantly.

TIA,

Bob Elliott

I like the TEC-Tach , very sturdy, designed by pullers for pullers. will work on virtually any spark ignition engine from 1 to 8 cyl. has recording time also and much larger than a tiny tach. down side is the cost

if you are looking for something to just check engine speed I like these vibra tachs . Both Briggs and Tecumseh sell them and approve their use. I've been using the same one for over 25 years . http://www.arboristsite.com/communit...ra-tach.27206/

I had 1 tiny tach. the one I had was a very early production one and it was insanely inaccurate

I should add that the K series single was the biggest problem for the tiny tach. I tried it on twins and it was fairly decent.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
