I think that mod is a bit overkill for anything but a diesel. The twins are pretty smooth...I'd just replace any bad rag joints or couplers, and it'll be fine for many years to come.
It's not going to be as simple as switching driveshafts. The length is different, and it may not bolt up to the Onan. |

Yeah, didn't intend to switch driveshafts just trade CV's and rags. Due to the additional length of the super the shaft lengths are different.

The shaft is from an 1882 and the adaptor plate to the Onan is homemade.

You will have to make a rear plated to connect the CV joint to the hydro buy the four bolts . I think a standard trans 82 series has the right part for the rear for the hydro if you don`t want to make one. the 1862 shaft had to cut shorter and I made sure to have end play in the completed shaft. 6" I think I cut out for the 1512. The sleeve was 1 1/8 round stock bored through (center bored) and then pressed together and center drilled and pinned and peaned. works great and my 129 will soon have it done. My loader goes through drive shaft rag joints because I run 550 weight on the tractor and my 235 .lol Don T
