Daggonit!
I knew I was overdue. Came home from a fishing trip Sunday and went to mow. I started the tractor and when I started the pto it started and died(PTO shut off not engine). I tried it again and same thing. 3rd time it wouldn't start. Got the tractor near the garage and the engine died. Tried to crank and no go. no lights no nothing. I replaced the main fuse and still no go. I get on it later today. Prob started with the PTO so I will to and work back from there. Went through this some time ago when getting my super sorted out. Lot's of toasted components including PTO, Relay, PTO switch and eventually the ignition switch.

That stinks. Look at it this way, maybe it's a sign to head back and do some more fishing.

I like that idea!
I think I fixed it. It seems that once again I have had an in dash fuse holder fail. I replaced it a while back and it was not passing juice again. 12 volts in. Nothing out even after a couple of different fuse changes. I took a modern ATC style fuse holder with pigtails and spliced it in instead. Seems to be running fine now. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
