Any Coin Collectors?
Anyone else collecting coins?
Been collecting for a little over a year now. It tends to be more fun during the winter, but I still keep my eyes open thru the summer. Oddest: 1883 King of Hawaii .50$ piece Newest: 2013 Mexican Libertad 1 oz .999 silver proof

I've been collecting coins most of my life but only out of whatever change came my way (my Father had a pretty nice collection) I don't have any real cool stuff, just some domestic pre 64 silver and a lot of wheat pennies. I did start with the US State Quarters, I think I have 3 sets of most of them now.
I would like to have a "Loony" and a "Tooney" some day though.

You have a wonderful hobby there. Certainly one that is rewarding in more than one way!
I'm not much into coins, but I know a couple who started in a small shop in their local small town and now they own a multi-million dollar business, shipping internationally, etc. Their vault under their business is over 60 feet long, surrounded by 4 ft of concrete (Silver Towne). When I asked him what the best way to start a coin collection was, he told me to buy a very nice metal detector. My nephew did and within a week found a 1565 German Thaler. Cub Cadet 123

Too cool. I've got a couple Silvertowne items and one of these days I'll get to that side of the state to visit.

Was listening to an NPR news item last month.
There are some that are hording pre 1985 pennies for the copper value. Although it is currently illegal to smelt pennies for the copper, they are betting that the mint will declare pennies obsolete or no longer protected from smelting. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
