I had the other concern that the front wheel will carry TOO much weight and it won't steer very well or could eat up the front bearings. With stuff in the back I can see your concern. Wheelie machine!

I'm not poo-pooing the build by any stretch. I hope it works out great!

I didnt build it for a bed full of parts. It pulls me and the wife and a grand kid better then I thought it would.
I built it to hold lawn chairs and a cooler and a few parts that I may pick up.
It doesnt like wet grass going up hill. So I added a bracket for my suitcases weights . The cast weight that comes on it is long gone.

the drive is a worm gear. It has tons of torque. A lever putts the wheel in and out of gear. I aded a clutch to the engine to soften the launch when put into gear and the engine doesnt stall. It doesnt idel low enough to keep it in gear and alow the clutch to slip.

Very nice fabrication and you can enjoy the shows more, from not being wore out from all the walking. But what was the the drive unit originally used for?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
