Raising mower deck
I just bought a 127 with a 48in mower deck. The cutting height when on the highest setting is only about 3.5 inches. My 123 deck raises much higher. I use them to mow around the farm, not a nice grass lawn, so 3.5 inches is too low. Anyone know how to raise the deck? The lift linkage seems to be raising as it should as compared to the 123, tires are aired up, the adjustability on the deck is taken up for the highest lift. Any ideas?

Not sure what size deck is on your other tractor but i can tell you that the spindles in a 48" deck are about an inch longer than a 38 or 42" deck. If your other tractor has a smaller deck it will automatically have another inch of lift just because of the shorter spindles.

The 123 has a 42in mower and in 'transport' position the blades are about 6in off the floor. The 127 has a 48in mower and only clears 3.5in. Measuring things today I came to the same conclusion, the deck is deeper and spindles longer.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
