This came into the shop last week. Wish We could have taken it apart but it made a nice pic.

OUCH!
I've seen 466 that looked like that. Even saw one that still ran with the rod hanging out the side! Which cylinder? |

This one ran too. It was in a bucket truck and we wanted to get the bucket off to the side so we could pick the engine with the overhead crane. It surprised us when it fired. We figured it wouldn't build enough oil PSI to run the HEUI.

Back when I did ojt on job training for school they had a 1066 that had the crank broke in between the main bearings and the thing still ran! It had a tick in the engine they couldn't figure out . They found it when they finally tore the engine down. Friend of mine roasted the #4 sleeve piston and rod in his pulling tractor last night , two handfuls of chunks of metal in the pan. Poked a hole in the water jacket too don't know if it got the crank too , prob did. He had a video posted of the pull and you couldn't tell anything happened all sounded fine.

the DT was in just a bone stock bucket truck for the city of Milwaukee. People have to here the noise that something is wrong way before it chucks the rod.
I've seen my share of puller failures , you kind of expect it there since you are abusing it to start with. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
