Powder coat numbers
I see a few references here for powder coat that has been used. Anyone want to share their experiences on what matches well? (prismatic powder codes are in another thread here but even that the poster didnt feel the beige matched all that well)
I would like to find a matching source for CC Yellow, the later model 'white/beige', as well as implements. A direct call to the powder coat to match paint codes didnt give a hit. Has anyone done it and were you satisfied with the match? (important to get a decent match, for me, because there is likely going to be some touch up with traditional paint). Meaning, I am not going to strip all gaskets and rubber to be able to bake it. |

Can't the vendor scan a color sample and match it just like they do house paint at Lowes and Home Depot?
Also, has powder coating improved over the years to where it does not chip off with every little impact? |

powder coat like paint is only as good as the surface prep under it

Here is what I came up with from prismatic powders:
IH Red: P-105S/Solid Tone CC Yellow: PSS 4571/Solid Tone CC Beige(935): USS 2242/Solid Tone CC Implement: PSS 3043/Solid Tone Epoxy Primer: ESS-6518 These colors were matched via an archive search, from fresh Martin Senour Paint samples that I sent to have archive matched. They are pretty close (from my eye). If my paint wasnt mixed properly then they could be off, and certainly if you were matching existing paint they likely wouldnt match due to the old paint being faded. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
