Cat 0 questions
I just tried installing the Cat 0 that came with my recently aquired 1512, and it appears the lift bar is too long. The hitch looks like a standard 389, but the third link bracket is welded on, with no bolt holes. Could this be an aftermarket hitch, or factory, and I'm guessing the lift bar is for a super?

If you could post a picture, that would help us identify if it is original or aftermarket. The link I sent you on your other post is the only place that makes aftermarket cat 0 hitches as far as I know of. Is the lift bar straight? Or does it have a bend in it?

Mine looks just like Aaron's. I'm guessing it is for a super, and from what I know, there is no good way to tell if it;s factory, or aftermarket. Here is something cool, I'm pretty sure this 1512 is the same one mrcubcadet owned, and the same one that's featured on tractordata.com. I bought it from a guy that got it in a trade. It has the same stack and is missing the same parts...for now. Also got another hydraulic angle blade in the deal, along with a 50c deck.

I'll measure the lift bar for mine, it is for a SGT so if yours is the same you know it's wrong.

The lift bar for my 982 is 37" overall, and there are two little kinks in it that offset it a little bit.

Cory & Conner, I think this is a small world! IIRC I traded Conner that SGT bar off of a super that had a GT hitch on it. I took the GT hitch off of that super to put on a GT and needed a GT bar. He had what I needed and I had what he needed so we traded. Pretty cool how stuff goes around in this little community.

Oh my, that explains why the GT came with a SGT bar! Conner, yes I still have it, but she is a 982D now. I cut the bar down, then welded the piece back on, when she became the 982D.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
