Kind of weird
My 108 has a 12hp Kohler factory replacement engine in it and it runs fantastic and doesn't smoke or leak oil. I changed the oil in it at the beginning of the season and mow about twice a week with it and the other day I decided to check the oil and it was exactly where it need to be. Now here's where it gets weird, the oil was still clear and looked like I had just poured it in. I've never seen oil this clear in any engine let alone one that has the better part of 30 hours. Your thoughts?

30 hours isn't a lot for oil. I have Kohlers that are in good shape that are the same way. My 125 for example. Changed oil in it, and until I moldboard plowed with it, the oil never got dark. Put 40hrs on it plowing snow, never had to top it off, and was still about the color it was when I poured it in. Nothing odd or unusual here. Just a good engine that has no blow-by.

Oil I'm my 1211 with the k301aqs says clean for a month or so mowing once a week then darkens up. Iusually add a few ounces of oil every couple mowings. I run conventional 30w also. My pickup I use 15/40 rotella (never have had to add oil)its's a 7.3 stays clean till about time I change it. Any other diesels I've been around the oil is dark after an hr.

I changed oil in my 1450 in the beginning of summer. Has not darkened up hardly if at all. Also dosnt burn or blow it. Mow 1.5 acres ever other week with it as well as the random rides around the yard for the kids
