QA42 gearbox bearings
I am trying to find out if anyone has had luck with finding bearings that cross from the IH part numbers? I need to rebuild my gearbox and want to replace the inner and outer bearings along with the seals.
these are the numbers I have 475-627-r91 475-628-r91 485-306-r1 I seen that Ihccw had some, but only had 1 inner and didn't list any seals. hope someone can help!!! Thanks Jim |

Take the old bearings and seals out and there will be a manufacturer number on them. Careful with the seal, so you don't damage the number. All you have to do is take those to a bearing supplier. The last time I did one, IBT had them in overnight.

Thanks. |

Ok, I'm on my own computer now and have the numbers.
Inner bearing is R12 Outer bearing is 1630DC or I think a BR9930 works too. Seal is a 471643 Your bearing supplier should be able to verify that the OD and ID of the bearings and seals are all the same.

When I rebuilt mine, I took the bearings right into the bearing supply store and they matched them up. I told them what they were for and had the gear box housing and shafts in my vehicle if they needed any more info ( they didn't )

When you list numbers, sometimes a bearing or seal number is specific to a manufacturer. You should list the manufacturer just for certainty. The seal number you gave is a National seal number. But the same seal in SKF is a 7628. The bearing numbers are correct, and not manufacturer specific. |

I don't think I had a manufacturer to go with numbers.
If anyone goes to a bearing supplier with these numbers and they can't get you the right bearing and seal, leave as fast as you can! That supplier probably couldn't get the correct bearing and seal if they had the old ones right there in front if them.

But sometimes even my bearing and seal company needs to know who made it to help with a cross. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
