Cold weather operation ?
i just got a cub 1863 last weekend it has the 54" deck gound leaves with it and rode around yard with it everything worked fine @ 65 degrees tryed starting yesterday @ 34 started fine but when i engaged mower it stalled engine after trying a few times it worked any idea what caused it thanks

did you let it warm up a min or two? they can be a little cranky with a cold engine.

My 1864 (same engine) is the same way. It needs about 10 minutes to warm up when it is cold out.

Same here, I always check my oil, start up the machine then let it sit for about 10 minutes or so while I grease the front axle, wheels, deck, etc for the job ahead. By the time I'm ready, it's ready.
