Bearing ?
can anyone tell me if it is important to put a center support bearing in the drive shaft? I HAVE BEEN PULLING MY STOCK 4000 RPM TRACTOR FOR 10 YEARS AND NEVER HAD ONE. it is a model 73 and there is not much room to work down there between the frame rails . anybody have a picture of a narrow frame with one? I have my tractor pulled apart now and was wondering about it. I am not talking about unlimited RPM tractor .just stock.

Guys running the short tunnel bolt them to the top of the tunnel and make a spacer. The tall tunnels need to have a cross member either bolted or welded in place.
I run them even at 4,000 rpm. The drive shaft flexes a lot.

I don't think you need one in a stocker. that said , they aren't that hard to put in and its cheap insurance . I had one in my old stock. but my stocker had allot of overkill parts in it since I'd rather pull than work on my tractor. it had a pinto rear, hard top shaft. pinion bearing retainer. gear sets. super cub clutch.
