I have owned cub cadet for over 30 years. My first one was a 122. I then purchaced a new 782. What a great tractor. I then traded the 782 for a 782D. I then bought a 982. Next came a 1450. I sold both the 982 and 1450. I started collecting 782s and 682s. I currently have 1 782D, 7 782 gas, 4 682 and 1 2185. I mow 4 acres of grass with them and I try and rotate them so they all get used.
I also have a 560D, farmall M, farmall H, John Deere 3010D, John Deere A and John Deere B. I like both Red and Green they made each other better.,

Here is a picture of BCDSFCRET's 82's lined up. 1 is my 782 and another is my brother's 782. The rest are my Dad's (BCDSFCRET), and he has 2 more 682's, and 2 more 782's since this picture was taken a couple years ago.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
