Well guys, wanted to shoot out a quick update on this project for those that had helped thus far with it. This project, at the moment, is no more. The guy I was going to buy all my parts off of decided to change his mind at the last minute and keep the engine "just in case he needed it". I contacted him last night, said I'd be up after work to get what we agreed upon, and he said he wanted to keep it. LOOVVVEEE working with this guy I did at least get the correct subframe for my blade and the factory lift bracket for my 1864 so it wasn't a total loss.
Now I'm debating if I even want to move forward with this project. With the amount of machine that come up around here during the spring time season, I may just be better off socking away my pennies until spring and just buy a running a red machine and be done with it. This project has been cursed since day one anyway Anywho, thanks for the help up to this point with this, guys. I have bookmarked all the resources that have come my way in this thread, so when the day comes for me to repower a red machine, I'll be off to a good start.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
